New York State Inspections

In the state of New York, every driver is required to get a safety inspection and an emission inspection every 12 months, by a DMV certified inspector at a privately-owned inspection station licensed by the DMV.

If you purchase a vehicle from a New York State (NYS) dealer, the dealer must have the vehicle inspected, within 30 days of the date of sale and before delivery. If you did not purchase your vehicle from a NYS dealer, you will receive a 10 day extension, after the vehicle is registered in NYS.

There could be a variety of penalties should you not follow the DMV’s regulations and expectations regarding safety and emission inspections, such as fines and vehicle registration suspensions. We at Lenny’s Tire Service want to help you avoid any such things. Lenny’s Tire Service is a full service, licensed inspection station located in Middleburgh, NY.
